AviDemux is a video editor and encoder which can edit, encode, requantize MPEG and AVI, including DivX. It isalmost like VirtualDub, but can also encode to VCD/SVCD/DVD mpg. Most common codecs are supported (MJPEG, MPEG, DivX, Xvid, huffyuv, WMA, etc.) thanks to libavcodec and libmpeg2. Video can beedited, cut, appended, filtered (resize/crop/denoise), and reencoded to either AVI (DivX/Xvid) or MPEG 1/2. Avidemux is a free video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encodingtasks.It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and powerful scriptingcapabilities. Avidemux is available for Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows under the GNU GPL license. The program was written from scratch by Mean, but code from other people and projectshas been used as well. Patches, translations and even bug reports are always welcome.
